Cry baby....cryyyyy

I may have gotten us into a little pickle, and not the good, cold, crunchy kind....but the kind that are warm and have been sitting on a sandwich for a long time that makes the bun all soggy. Yuck. Anyway - our good little boy who was sleeping through the night at 5 weeks and been on his two nap a day schedule since I can remember is sometimes fighting his naps, unless he is super tired, and waking up in the middle of the night, SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONCE. Part of me wonders if he is ready to move to only one nap a day....but the minute I think that, he's back on his two nap a day schedule, no problem. 

The middle of the night problem is my fault. For the past 10 months I have been feeding him in the middle of the night when he wakes up. At some point I should have stopped this, but I haven't yet. It has seemed to be the only thing that would calm him down while those pesky teeth were coming in. He now has 6 teeth in and more on the way. I do feel lucky that I have been able to nurse him this long, even though I can't see it lasting much longer with supply greatly diminishing. 

So now what? We try the cry it out method? We tried it for a little bit last night, then I gave in. Before, I would jump right up in the middle of the night when he cried because I didn't want him to wake Jeremy. Now that seems to be biting me in the butt. I know the cry it out way isn't an overnight change, but he can be so loud at night that part of me wonders if the neighbors can hear!

OR do I just suck it up and keep feeding him in the middle of the night? Part of me doesn't really mind, but the other part would like to sleep through the night.

So what's a mom to do? HELP

Happy Easter and 10 months!!

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and 10 months for Camden. This also means only 2 more months until Steph and Howie's wedding!! Yay!

The Easter Bunny was a little late getting to our house yesterday. He must have known that Camden was a naughty boy and didn't take a nap at all on Saturday. Or maybe the Easter Bunny was just tired. SUE ME. Anyway...once his Easter basket was out Camden was able to enjoy his Easter goodies.

We went to Church and then to my parents for lunch. Camden had a lovely day full of fun family time, yummy food, and his first Easter Egg Hunt!

Because Mimi and Poppy are in Georgia and we couldn't celebrate Easter with them in person...Camden was able to Skype with them before the day was over.

How big is Camden? SO big!

Thanks to Grandpop....my dad....Camden will show you just how big he is when you ask him. (And trust me...it's big!) While I don't have that on video just yet, it will be coming soon, I promise.

Camden has been extra fun to play with in these past couple of weeks. We now chase (crawl) each other around the house while playing Peek-a-boo. He finds it hilarious. We also put blocks on his head and he likes watching them fall. Hilarious. Wiggle your toes in front of him and he will try to bite them...while laughing hysterically. There is a lot of laughter in this house...and I love it.

Watching Camden play makes me wonder what he's going to be when he grows up. I wonder if there is anything specific that he is doing now that will be a part of what he does. For example, could he possibly become a professional Jenga player?

Or perhaps a male model?

Or maybe he is going to be a professional baseball player. He sure loves his Tball set...and it seems like he could chase the ball around the house with the bat for hours.



Maybe he wont use any of these awesome skills later on in life, and that's okay, but it sure is fun to watch him do new things :)

This past weekend we went and visited Jeremy's Grandparents who live in West Virgina. This was the first time they had seen Camden since he was just a couple weeks old!



Looks like not much has changed! :) Except now there is more of Camden to love. And although Camden has been a little weird around strangers recently, he must have known that these folks were family, because he warmed right up to them. I know he enjoyed the visit, and I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa Floyd did too!



Things to do on a Rainy Day

The best way to describe today is...Yucky. Stuck indoors? Camden has a few ideas for you on how to pass the time and enjoy yourself.

Here is Camden's top 6 list of Things to do on a Rainy Day:

#6. Practice blowing kisses
      -You never know, maybe one of these days you'll be in a parade, or you'll have so many people around you who love you. Since you may not be able to physically kiss them all, you should practice blowing kisses. Camden will show you how:

#5. Read

      -Preferably fitness articles. Can't go outside for a jog? That's okay! Pick up a fitness magazine... because reading about fitness is almost as good as exercising! Right?

#4. Stare at yourself in the mirror

      -Why, you ask? Because no one loves you more than you. And while you're at it...give your reflection a kiss or two, good lookin'.

#3. Play in the tub with your clothes on
      -Spice it up a notch and play in a new place. Simple. As. That.

#2. Play peek-a-boo

      -What happens when you can't find anyone to play with you and staring at your reflection has gotten boring? (but honestly, why would it??) You play by yourself!

Finally - Camden's #1 thing to do on a rainy day:

#1. TAKE A NAP
      -Rainy, cloudy days can make just about anyone tired. Plus, you exhausted yourself from all of those fitness articles, you deserve it!

Big Changes

Big things are happening in the Floyd household. Camden got over his double ear infection and decided he was a man.
It all started with him sitting up in his crib...now he stands up and shakes the rail.

He has also grown out of his baby car seat so we had to upgrade....He doesn't seem to care. He probably wishes he still had those toys that hung from his baby carrier handle. Sorry buddy, no fun allowed.

Then he decided he was ready to crawl (video below), so we had to put the baby gate in. After only a few days of installation it's good to go....let's hope you do your job, baby gate.

He will clap when you say, "Clap", most of the time he will wave when you tell him to, "Say Hi", and he will also kiss on demand. We get a lot of smooches in this house :)

Oh, and did I mention he also looks adorable on demand?? He gets that from his mommy. Fact.

All of these new things have all occoured within the past couple of weeks. If he had a little bit better balance he would probably be walking by now. Eek! Slow down there tiger...what happened to my cuddly little nugget??

CAMDEN CRAWLING

Mimi, and Poppy and Ear Infections...Oh My!

This past weekend we had a nice little visit from the in-laws. Too bad it happened to be on the weekend that Camden had his first fever and double ear infection.

Look at those tired eyes and that tired yawn. Poor little guy.

Although he was a sad and tired baby all weekend he still managed to have some fun. He taught Uncle Brandon how to share....

And he still managed to have a smile on his face even though he felt like poo-poo.

Even on his sickest day....he managed to make us ALL smile

We even ended up back at the doctors yesterday because I thought he was having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin. Doc just thought it was eczema...but they had to change medications just in case. Good news is that his ears look good....but now we're all red and blotchy! 

And even though he may still be a little uncomfortable...he seems to be back to his normal self. No fever....no ear pain...just fun-loving, baby Camden.
