Life is simple.

A little fired up. So this blog post might turn out to be a rant.

I would like to clarify that I am good fired up, not angry, just fired up about life. I'm a big believer that life is really what you make of it. My Aunt has a blog titled, "Life is simple, just not always easy" Or something along those lines....and I believe that to be true. Life is simple, or it is at least meant to be simple. Period. There are things that are going to come up that will throw you for a loop or that will toss you off course, but ultimately, it is simple.

Bad things are going to happen and you are the one that chooses how you react to those bad things. Want to be angry and pissed about those things? Fine. Go ahead, but what a waste....while you are focusing on these bad things that are happening, you are totally missing out on the good things in life that are right under your nose.

Some people are afraid of success. Others are afraid of being happy. These types of people don't want to succeed because they are afraid they will ultimately fail. These same people are afraid of being happy because they are convinced that something will make them unhappy again.

"Whether you think you can or think you can't - you're right" - Henry Ford

Instead of saying, "Why me?" say, "Why not me?" Everything we go through is a learning experience. It may not be a pleasant experience, but it is a learning experience nonetheless. And the person you are today is shaped from those past experiences.

The phrase, "Do not be afraid" appears maaaaaaaany times throughout the Bible. Being afraid is easy and in a sense, lazy...anyone can do it. It takes a strong and secure person to turn that fear into something else. I choose to be fearless.

This post was inspired by a client at the studio who had me fired up about life earlier....and apparently still fired up. Thanks for inspiring me to look on the bright side.

ON TO IMPORTANT THINGS:

Camden is walking. He is not 100% steady on those feet just yet, but he's getting there :)
Oh, and he's still absolutely adorable....

Happy Mother's Day to ME!

This year I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day. It was wonderful! It may be the best day of the year, for me of course. I used to always think my birthday was the best day of the year, but now, I would have to say Mother's Day is hands down the best.

On your birthday people are always telling you how old you are, or "you're only as old as you feel." You are also probably nursing a hangover and people show no sympathy. On Mother's day, people constantly tell you how great you are...and they offer to do things for you. Jeremy poured my cereal Sunday morning AND I got to take two naps. BEST DAY EVER.

We also opened our pool this weekend. It has come a long way in just 5 short days, but I still wont be swimming in this thing anytime soon. There's a lot of work to be done before Camden's first birthday party! Whoop whoop!
Saturday

Today

Camden took his first steps last week!! He has gotten up to 5 big boy steps on his own. It is only a matter of time before he takes off running. I will probably buy him a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.

Today he was climbing over Chloe like she was a toy. Poor dog.

11 Months!!!!?!!

Where has the time gone?? Camden is 11 months old today. One month until he turns 1. Whaaaat?!!? 1 month until Steph and Howie's wedding :)

Today I decided to make Camden  banana pancakes as a special treat. He loves bananas, and loves waffles that Grandma makes, so I thought I would be golden. Yummm!

Camden, on the other hand, wasn't as excited as I was about them. So I ate some. I thought they were pretty darn good even though they were made with baby formula. Camden is clearly too cool for my banana pancakes.

Brady came over to play with Camden and Lisa came over to play with me. Happy day for everyone. Brady wasn't a fan of the pancakes either....oh well. MORE FOR ME!

At 11 months Camden's new task is learning how to walk. He is pretty good at navigating around objects and getting from one place to the next, but he still isn't 100% sturdy on those feet.

I caught Camden climbing the stairs yesterday....oh boy!

Yesterday also marked the third time he has smashed his face on his train table. Three times of bleeding from the mouth is three times too many for me to handle. Bye, Bye train table....for now anyway.
